Tennis 2019-2020

News

We are currently getting quotations and seeking funding for resurfacing the two floodlit courts and aiming to have them completed in the spring.

Summer League 2020Trophy Kiss

The men’s teams are looking to recruit more players for the summer league. Our A team currently play in North Somerset and are promoted to Division 1 for summer 2020 for the first time ever after winning Division 2.

Our B team narrowly missed out on promotion for a third year running, and will again be attempting to get promotion from Division 6 this year.

We are also starting a Men’s C team for the first time in the history of the club in division 8; this is amazing as it ensures more players get a game and gives experience to players hoping to move up into the B and A teams.  The season begins in April and continues into July.

After being promoted to Division 3 two seasons ago, the Ladies Team came 4th, keeping their place in the division. The Ladies Team would benefit from additional players and would welcome any interest to strengthen their promotion ambitions and perhaps start at B team at some point starting in division 7.

Winter League

League tennis doesn’t end in the summer we are enjoying a successful winter mixed team in the North Somerset Autumn League where we have involved a large number of men and ladies, and gained promotion from the bottom division last winter.  We have also started a new men’s Vets team (over-45s) which is likely to finish 3rd in division 3.

If you’ve not played league before (including juniors) and would like to have a go let us know.

Social Tennis and Coaching

Social tennis club sessions are on some Thursday nights (men’s and ladies) – contact us if you are interested – we are also hoping to start a social (non-league) session on a Sunday morning.  Men’s team practice is on Monday evenings throughout the year; we generally go to the Recreation Club next to the courts or sometimes The Old Inn after both league matches and practice and we have a few socials throughout the year. See our Contact for more details if you’re interested in joining or coming along to a few practices or social tennis.

The club also offers adult and junior coaching on a weekly basis run by Dean Cope. Please contact Dean (LTA registered coach) for more information.
