The men’s teams are looking to recruit more players for the summer league. Our A team currently play in North Somerset and are promoted to Division 2 for summer 2019 after winning Division 3 and would like to be strengthened with another player or so.
Our B team were promoted for the second year running, and will be playing in Division 6 in summer 2019 this year. The season begins in April and continues into July.
After being promoted to Division 3 last season, the Ladies Team came 3rd, narrowly missing out on promotion to division 2. The Ladies Team would benefit from additional players and would welcome any interest to strengthen their promotion ambitions.
League tennis doesn’t end in the summer we are enjoying a successful winter mixed team in the North Somerset Autumn League where we have involved a large number of men and ladies, and gained promotion from the bottom division last winter.
If you’ve not played league before (including juniors) and would like to have a go let us know. We have to submit teams by July each year for the following winter and summer seasons – if we have enough players we will consider putting out a C team which would start in Division 8 for the Mens and a B team for the Ladies starting in Division 7. This would be excellent to ensure more players get a game and gives experience to players hoping to move up into the B and A teams.
Social tennis club sessions are on some Thursday nights (men’s and ladies) – contact us if you are interested. Men’s team practice is on Monday evenings throughout the year we generally go to The Old Inn after both league matches and practice and we have a few socials throughout the year. See our Contact for more details if you’re interested in joining or coming along to a few practices or social tennis.
The club also offers adult and junior coaching on a weekly basis run by Dean Cope. Please contact Dean (LTA registered coach) for more information.
We are a friendly club, providing facilities to support and encourage the playing of tennis for all ages and abilities from the village and the surrounding area.
The club was founded in the 1930s and is situated on National Playing Fields Association grounds. It is part of the multi-sports King George V Memorial Recreation Club.
The Club has recently resurfaced all 3 courts, and installed new floodlighting as part of our development programme on court 1 & 2.
