The men’s teams are looking to recruit more players for the summer league. Our A team currently play in North Somerset Division 3 and would like to be strengthened with another player or so.
Our B team currently play into North Somerset Division 8B and are looking to return straight back to Division 7 after narrowly being relegated last year. The season begins in April and continues into July.
The Ladies Team play in Division 4, The Ladies Team would benefit from additional players and would welcome any interest to strengthen their promotion ambitions.
League tennis doesn’t necessarily end in the summer and the club will be likely to enter a mixed team into the North Somerset Autumn League
If you’ve not played league before (including juniors) and would like to have a go we are consider putting out a C team which would start in Division 8 for the Mens and a B team for the Ladies starting in Division 7 – this would be excellent as it ensures more players get a game and gives experience to players hoping to move up into the B and A teams.
Social tennis club sessions are on a Thursday night and we are looking to expand this to Sunday mornings (men’s and ladies). Men’s team practice is on Monday evenings throughout the year we generally go to The Old Inn after both league matches and practice and we have a few socials throughout the year. See our Contact for more details if you’re interested in joining or coming along to a few practices or social tennis.
The club also offers adult and junior coaching on a weekly basis run by Dean Cope. Please contact Dean (LTA registered coach) for more information.
We are a friendly club, providing facilities to support and encourage the playing of tennis for all ages and abilities from the village and the surrounding area.
The club was founded in the 1930s and is situated on National Playing Fields Association grounds. It is part of the multi-sports King George V Memorial Recreation Club.
The Club has recently resurfaced all 3 courts, and installed new floodlighting as part of our development programme on court 1 & 2.
